Our History
Parents & Skaters Joined Forces
In February, 2009 over 50 skateboarders along with parents, grandparents and supporters met in Grayson to organize an effort to build a skatepark for Carter County, Kentucky since the closest quality skatepark is over 75 miles away.
A Great Need for More Recreational Facilities
There are Little League baseball fields and soccer fields available plus school sports--BUT the need is here to build a recreational facility for those who choose to participate in an individual sport.
- Access to a facility during the entire year
- Free to the public
- Chance to recreate with those of similar interests
- A safe, organized environment
Research Field Trips
Skaters continue to take research field trips to other skateparks to help them develop a conceptual design to decide which elements to include for their own outdoor skatepark.
They have visited skate parks in Louisville, Florence and Dry Ridge Kentucky as well as Westerville, Grove Port, Columbus, Kettering and Athens, Ohio.
Our Mission Statement . . .
